Energy consumption
Because our plastics are moulded, they have to be melted first. As soon as the fluid matter leaves the machine, the cooling process starts. Therefore, the production process of plastic pipe and hose requires a lot of energy. All our equipment is electrically heated and Weterings has made the switch to renewable energy sources.
Our other energy consumption will be limited in the coming years as a result of savings. Studies are also being conducted to investigate how our residual heat can be effectively used to, for example, heat our buildings.
Although it is only a small energy source for us, Weterings Plastics aims to completely stop the use of natural gas by 2025.
